Born from a deep love of Indian classical music, Suranjali Canada has been bridging cultures and nurturing talent since 2018.
The idea of Suranjali Canada is simple, yet powerful. We follow a two-step strategy: our repertoire includes a vast choice of educational programs that enlighten students on the importance and cultural background of Indian music.
Second, we establish friendly performance opportunities by which new and composing talents can perform. Since 2018, we have conducted many workshops with established musicians from the United States and Canada, and contributed to two annual large-scale concerts in auditoriums.
Virtual events during recent years have increased our range — presenting more Indian artistes from India, Bangladesh, and Canada to audiences worldwide.
The primary objective is to assist the Indian community in North America to help them stay intact with their cultural roots — giving them opportunities to experience the rich cultures of Indian music.
A community plays an essential part in nurturing social, cultural, and spiritual growth. Our team is dedicated to fostering, preserving, and promoting Indian classical, semi-classical, and regional music through concerts and workshops.
Ever since our establishment, we have focused on public, traditional, and spiritual growth. The universal language of music has allowed us to bridge the gap between communities to bring peace and harmony.
An MBA with high expertise in Math and Economics, Sonali is a professor of Mathematics in Toronto. She had intensive training on both Indian as well as Western Classical music — learning from eminent vocalists including Late Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri, Vidushi Dalia Rahut and Dr Vinay Bhide. She has performed widely in India, UK, the USA and Canada.
Anjan brings more than 3 decades of progressive management background. An extensively well-travelled and networked professional, Anjan also plays Tabla — groomed under his father Sri Baidyanath Ghosh. Hallmarks of his playing are the combination of ringing tonal resonance with the dexterity of execution. His repertoire combines Farukabad, Delhi and Lucknow styles.
